Charleston, SC

Ali and Mommy in Charleston

Ali and I took off on Wednesday morning for a quick trip to Charleston, SC to go see Lans who was there on business. Charleston is an easy 3 hour drive, and Ali was an angel for the entire trip. We stayed right down in the historic district and were able to walk everywhere from our hotel. Charleston is one of our favorite spots in the Carolinas. We had a very nice couple of days there. Here are some pictures from the trip.

Ali's First Haircut

We reached another milestone today. Ali got her first haircut this afternoon. We went to a great little kids salon called "Pigtails and Crewcuts" over in the Cotswold Shopping Center. Ali got to sit in a little fire engine. Her stylist, Shea, was incredibly patient and Ali did great. Afterwards she enjoyed playing with the trains and other toys at the salon. Here are some before, during, and after pictures.

No, No, No

This is Ali's favorite word. And in honor of how many times a day I hear it I thought I'd share Ali's favorite song with you. Just click on this link and then click on Elmo (Ali's favorite) and then go to the No song with Oscar. We watch this several times a day. http://video.sesameworkshop.org/

Ray's Splash Planet - On Thursday morning we went to Charlotte's indoor water Park, Ray's Splash Planet. Ali LOVED the water. She waded right in and started splashing around. She love the fountains, the waterslides, and all the giant buckets that spilled water out on her head, and of course "The Vortex" - a circular part of the pool that spins you around in circles, and tubing on the lazy river. She even went under water a few times and came up thinking it was the most fun thing in the world. Yes, little Ali Roo is going to be little Miss Adventure woman. I realized that I am going to have my hands full at the pool this summer. It was such a nice treat to go swimming at a cool waterpark in the middle of winter. We have decided to make this a regular wintertime trip!
