Ali wearing Mommy's Shades
My first Carousel Ride in St. Augustine
Pretty flowers. Pretty little girl!
Last week we had the opportunity to travel to Ponte Vedra Beach, FL for a little R and R. It was wonderful to spend a week together as a family, just the three of us. We went to the Sawgrass Marriott Resort for almost a week. We had a great trip down, Ali was a trooper. It was a 6 hour drive and she slept for the first 3 hours. She watched her favorite green bear, Boz for the rest of the trip and was happy as can be. It was a little chillier than we were expecting it to be for Florida, but we were still able to do a lot of fun things. They had a wonderful playground, and had all the pools heated up as warm as a bathtub, so Ali loved swimming. She especially loved the digging in the sand at the beach. I think she was overwhelmed by the huge open spaces and she loved running around and chasing the seagulls. We took a couple bike rides, Lans watched Ali and let me have some time at the beautiful spa at the resort to get a mani/pedi. Ali was very accomodating in her schedule for the week. We let her stay up 2 hours past her bedtime each night (8 o'clock) and she let us sleep in until 9:15 am every morning! Wow, what a great kiddo! She must have known we were on vacation. We spent Easter Sunday in St. Augustine (the oldest city in the US) with Lans' Aunt Sue and Uncle Lynn. They spend 4 months out of the winter in Florida. We went to church at the Ancient City Baptist Church and heard a fabulous sermon about the "greatest sermon never recorded"--- the one Jesus gave to the men as they were walking on the road to Emmaus. How their hearts burned within them as he revealed the scriptures to them. It was a great little church and we enjoyed celebrating Easter there. We had a wonderful time with the Bryngelsons and they even took Ali to her first carosel ride. Our trip to Florida was exactly what we needed it to be, a wonderful time of family togetherness.
